On May 25, 2018, the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect, and on December 6, the new Spanish Data Protection Law (LOPDGDD) was enacted.
The LOPDGDD, or Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights, regulates the processing of personal data in Spain.
How to Comply with LOPDGDD?
The LOPDGDD establishes new obligations in data protection. At Trainingym, we comply with the requirements of this law as data processors for our clients’ user data.
Our clients, as data controllers of their users' data, must adapt to the following requirements of this law.
When a user needs to exercise any of their rights under both the GDPR and LOPDGDD, they must have an appropriate, informed, and accessible channel. In this respect, Trainingym through its TGManager platform allows sports centers to add their Privacy Policy so that their users are informed at all times about how their center retains, processes, and handles their data. Currently, providing an email mailbox is the most efficient way to channel any questions our users may have.
Therefore, to inform the user, you should include this process in your privacy policy, which you can edit in Center → Data → Legal Text / Data Protection (this text will be the one the user can consult in the mobile app, both during their first access via a pop-up window, as well as in Settings → Privacy Policy.
Currently, Trainingym Manager features a button so that, in case of modifying the legal text, sports centers can resend it to their members and have it accepted again from their mobile application.
