Step 1: Obtaining the DUNS Number
The D-U-N-S is a 9-digit number that provides a unique identity to each business or company. This number is one of the requirements that Apple asks for to enroll in the app developers program.
Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) is the entity responsible worldwide for registering all corporate DUNS, in collaboration with various national agencies.
It is likely that D&B already has your DUNS registered, which you can obtain using Apple's DUNS number lookup tool.
If you are unable to obtain it using Apple's tool, you will need to request it from the regional agencies responsible for this process.
Procedure for Requesting the DUNS Number
You can request the DUNS number for free through the following links:
- In Spain, through the INFORMA website or this Apple support page.
- In the USA, through Dun & Bradstreet.
- In Colombia, through the INFORMA Colombia website.
- In the rest of Latin America, through the MyCIAL portal (select the Basic option).
As part of the verification process, a representative from D&B may contact you to confirm information such as the type of company, the number of employees, etc. You should have your company's registration documents ready.
Receiving the DUNS Number: Patience
After completing the D-U-N-S request, D&B may take up to five business days to send it to you. If they take more than a week to respond, send them an email through this link.
Once you have obtained the DUNS, Apple may take up to two business days to receive the information from D&B. You will then be able to enroll as a company or organization in the Apple Developer Program.
Step 2: Request to Create an iOS Developer Account
Go to the Apple Developer Program Enrollment page and sign in with an Apple ID (if you don't have one, you will need to create it by clicking on "Create Apple ID").
You will need a trusted Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) to enable two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, a security protocol for your Apple ID and all the personal information you store with Apple. For more information, click here.
iOS Developer Account Application Form
VERY IMPORTANT: We must select the Company/Organization option under the entity type, as it is the only one that allows adding collaborating developers (in this case, our team to perform maintenance and periodic updates for your app).
Next, you will be asked to provide corporate information, such as:
Next, you will be asked to provide basic contact information, as well as to read and accept the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.
We accept the terms and click on CONTINUE.
Once the process is complete, your application will be processed.
Apple will send you an email within 24-48 hours confirming the approval of your developer account.
During Registration, I Received the Following Message: “Your organization does not appear as a legal entity,” What Does This Mean?
The company you specified appears in D&B's database with a different legal form (for example, as a sole proprietorship) or its legal form has not been verified. When enrolling, make sure to use your organization’s legal name, as Apple does not accept sole proprietorships, fictitious names, trade names, or branches for company or organization enrollment.
If your company is a legal entity, submit your company’s registration documents via email to D&B (in English). It is mandatory to present the complete registration documents to verify the legal form of the organization.
Step 3: Billing
Once we have Apple’s authorization, we can complete the final step of creating the account, which is billing. Apple offers the option of automatic renewals, which we recommend selecting to avoid the application disappearing due to license expiration.
Detailed Steps for Billing
- Log In: Log in to your Apple Developer account.
- Navigate to Billing: Go to the billing section of your account settings.
- Select Automatic Renewals: Choose the option for automatic renewals to ensure your account remains active.
- Enter Payment Information: Provide your payment details to complete the billing setup.
- Confirm and Save: Review the information and save your billing settings.
By setting up automatic renewals, you ensure that your developer account remains active without interruption.
With This Final Step, Your Corporate Apple Developer Account Is Now Operational
Adding a Collaborating Developer to Your Account
The only remaining task is to add Informática Trainingym as a collaborating developer to your developer account, so we can carry out the development, migration, and maintenance of your app.
